Rosemary on Apr 24, 2016Chalk paint will go over pretty much anything. After, you can finish it by waxing it or spraying with a clear varnish.Helpful Reply

Rosemary on Apr 24, 2016Chalk paint adheres well on very glossy surfaces and doesn't flake off at all. I generally use Annie Sloan paint and find it very hard-wearing. Their website has lots of helpful information. I don't think chalk paint comes in an aerosol but I use it all the time with an electric spray gun - it must be watered down.Helpful Reply

MN Mom on Apr 25, 2016I would think a spray paint would be the easiest way to paint a wicker piece. There are so many colors and finishes you're bound to find one you like. I don't believe the existing gloss finish will be an issue. You can always give it a light sanding and then a good cleaning before you begin with the new color.Helpful Reply
