What kind of paint should I use after I paint boards?

After i paint the boards for writing words for hanging on the walls, what kind of paint should i use and should i spray it after i finish with some shine paint

I've painted my boards with regular acrylic paint, put on the words and then sprayed over everything with a spray acrylic sealer to protect all the paint.
prime The boards before painting, then paint a top coat. Then place your saying. You can use craft paints..acrylics. They wash up with soap and water. I can’t rember what primer we used...gesso maybe..

You can just go over it with a clear sealer. That should keep it well protected
