Blue paint ideas for porch ceiling

After repairing my screened in porch, I want to paint the ceiling blue, like the sky.
The house and porch are painted a tan/latte color, with white trim.
Has anyone used blue for the ceiling, and what color & brand of paint did you use?

Also, I'm adding a ceiling fan, probably in a bronze color.

Yes, I used a color called 'Airy'; I believe it was Valspar brand on the ceiling over my back deck. Blue porch ceilings are a very old Southern tradition. It's great and keeps spiders from building webs besides keeping 'the haints' out of the house.

You can actually use any shade of light blue that appeals to you. I've even seen some porches painted in shades that leaned more toward the aqua or turquoise side. I painted our porch ceiling a color called "Blue Raindrop" (Valspar) I can attest to the fact that this old southern tradition of painting porch ceilings blue really does work at keeping insects such as spiders, wasps, dirt daubers etc., from building their nests on the ceiling. When we bought our house, the ceiling of the covered front porch had many dark stains from old nests, and a few abandoned nests. We pressured washed it, painted it blue and 2 years later, not one insect has even tried to start a nest on the ceiling. They like my wicker furniture and cushions but the blue ceiling doesn't appeal to them at all! Too bad it doesn't work to repel mosquitoes from the area!

A quick pic I just took, light isn't too good so not sure if the color is showing right.

I've added a photo of my porch showing the ceiling painted in "Blue Raindrop." You can actually use a little darker color than you probably would inside because the abundance of natural light tends to make colors look a bit washed out. In person, my ceiling looks a little darker than it appears in the photo. Also wanted to mention, if you search "haint blue" on Pinterest, you will find more inspiration photos and paint suggestions.

I used blue dOn all the ceilings in my house and we love it. It was from home depot but I am not sure of color nor brand. I am on vacation now and will let you know when I am home.

I love the idea of blue ceilings on porches. Would you paint directly onto a "popcorn swirled" ceiling or should it be sanded smooth first?
