How to clean paint trays?

Hi there, if Water based paint e.g: Emulsion, chalk paint, then warm water and washing up liquid will do the job. Best to do it before it dries. If Spirit based eg: Gloss paint, then use paint thinners or turps! also best done whilst still wet. Best of luck. Always soak up excess paint before cleaning with newspaper or old rags .........

If you just used it fill with hot water & dish soap, get a green scrubby & wear gloves the scrubby will get the paint off. If it is old I don't know.

Next time.... get a grocery store plastic bag to line the pan. Just put the pan in the bag as if you were to carry it. then put paint in the pan with the bag liner . Toss out the bag when done.....clean pan!!
