Homemade chalk paint

I have a question ladies. I have become friends with a business that is showing pictures of furniture painted with homemade chalk paint that is streaked, pealing and ruined after just 2 years. Does anyone have anyexperience with this? I have not been repainting and repurposing furniture long enough to know if they are correct or not. I know the real chalk paint is probably better, but in my area it is near impossible to get furniture and paint if with ASCP or Shabby Paints or any of the other known paints and make any kind of money, but I sure don't want my customers to be totally disappointed down the road with their purchase if it doesn't hold up. Thanks for taking the time to respond to me.

I know @Shelly@The Domestic Heart, @Kim~ Made in a Day and @Shanna Gilbert have all posted about homemade chalk painting! Maybe they can let you know how their projects are holding up? :)
