My daughter just purchased her first home there paint splattered on the kitchen cupboards in several places. What is the best way to remove the paint without damaging the stained birch cabinets?

She can use any wood cleaner and a plastic scraper, nylon scrubber or her fingernail and gently remove it once the cleaner has softened the paint. I had to do that on some stained walnut kitchen cabinets in a home we are remodeling. No harm was done to any of the cabinet finishes. Good luck!

Try rubbing alcohol. It dissolves latex and leaves other finishes alone. I had to remove a lot of latex paint slopped over window frames, faucets, light fixtures in my bathroom.

Motsenbockers Lift off. I had got a small sample with some paint I bouught. I took it home and used it on some splatters on the floor where I do my furniture painting...and I will tell you that I was so surprised. I thought that I would have to put it on and wait and have to scrap it off..I was wrong. I squirted it on the splatters and wiped over it..and the splatters melted off. I swear by this stuff..I got it from Lowes...I recommend it highly.

@Louise I had never heard of the product mentioned by @Terra Gazelle so being a curious person I googled it and found this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0b2sYkt5omA Looks like HD sells it in Canada.
