I would paint with a gray base color then paint the glitter over it
Hi there, I'm hoping this video will give you some ideas. They painted their walls with glitter - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_FyIXWsQGhQ
Yes I saw the wall painted in glitter, but because wall is done using a roller & a flat surface it is an easy task, but because the wordwork is contoured & has several trim moldings& uneven surfaces & miter(45*) joints, applying with a brush is needed& the rustoleum pre mixed does not cover or ‘flow’ with any consistency to create a consistent coat. I will have to try to find the correct color of silver-grey paint to apply as base coat because the rustoleum is clear, other wise I was wondering if their was a reliable additive to put in regular paint That enabled the added glitter to show up& then put a clear gloss coat over top of it?
You can either paint the trim with a metallic Silver paint first and then use the glitter product you have or you could even add a mica powder to the clear glitter product you have and it would be a transparent silver glitter - here is a link to the mica powder: https://shop.artisticpaintingstudio.com/products/metallic-powders
