You could wax the ones that don't get heavy use, or you could use a poly sealer.
At least three coats of a water based polyurethane. Sand lightly in between coats. Use a foam brush for a smooth finish.
Polycrylic is easy to apply..just dont over brush it on..light sand with 220 sand paper between coats
Polycyclic will give you a durable protection. Multiple coats can be applied for an even stronger seal.
