If you have bedspread/curtains already I would choose a color from them if they have several. If solid it's really up to you. So many beautiful colors and you could go with a dark or light color.

Since we don't know your taste, style and bedding colors, it would be real hard to pick a color for you. But I tend to like pale colors in the bedroom, which could be a neutral like the current popular gray or it could be something fun like aqua..... go to Sherwin Williams color selection and try some in their bedroom app.... https://www.sherwin-williams.com/visualizer#/active

Find your inspiration first. Go to a fabric store, furniture store or even a clothing store and look at the colors/patterns that speak to you. Pick one thing, a pillow or scarf or something else that really makes you happy. Then take that to the paint store and find a color that makes it pop.

Try to coordinate things (drapes, flooring, comforter, wall color, etc.) Gray is very neutral. What is your current color scheme?

So now you have a blank new space to create the look and feel YOU want. I'm a firm believer in choosing paint based on how it makes you feel! Think of your favorite clothes and the ones you wear that you receive compliments while wearing them. Then consider going with that color either exactly or several shades darker or lighter. Do you want your new decor to be serene and peaceful or moody and dark? You decide... and remember most any pale shade can be considered neutral if light enough in tone. Also, paint colors will look different at various times of the day...maybe try a few samples of those you like the most and live with them for a few days before making a decision.

Find a wonderful new coverlet or duvet, etc, that is love at first sight.

Pick the subtlest color from it for the walls and the woodwork so you can then have fun with curtains and/or shades.

You only have one or two windows. They are secondary. Your comforter should and will be the focus.

This is your comfort happy zone. Keep that foremost in your mind.

we always use a neutral or eggshell color then let the furniture and art take the colors.

Start with The colors you love. Then visit houzz and search photos of bedrooms with that combination of colors. You can also photographa wall or area of the room with wood finish and use a paint site to see how your combo will look all together. Good luck

It depends on if this is a child's room or an adults room. A color I've seen lately is a very pale mint greed with white trim. It really brightens up the room. If you can't get all the wall paper off and there are lumps, you can do a textured paint so it is not noticeable. Nice size room. Have fun!

I would search on Pinterest "updated bedroom decor" and pick one you love - and pick a color that way!
