Unicorn Spit DIY?
I am not able to afford the Unicorn Spit at $10+ per small bottle per color. I would love to make my own. I know that the creator of it said she made it out of her kitchen and that it's non-toxic. So it made me curious to think maybe I can make a replica that I can afford? I saw one person suggest its "cornstarch gel" and colorant. But what colorant I wonder and what ratios? Any ideas? Thank U!

It is a well guarded secret that we would all love to know. I am a huge Unicorn spit fan who bought the whole set when the first came out and the truth is I only use 5 of the colours. So maybe start with a few and build up your collection. The other colours are also nice but these for me stand out above all the rest.
Here are my favourite.
You can make an already diluted unicorn spit and it works great. 3 parts acrylic craft paint, 2 parts Mop & Glo, and 2 parts water. You can make it up ahead of time and put into portion cups with lids.
Hi! If you're putting it in veneer, I would sand the surface a little if its glossy. If it's real wood veneer, that would open the pores a little. If it's a wood-look veneer, it probably won't sink into it much, but i would also sand so it can grip better. I have not used US so I don't know about coating with anything. Hope this helps.
