Look for a paint that is specifically made for floors or patios because it’s durable. Apply a coat of primer to the surface first for the best durability and coverage.

27 years ago, when I first bought my house, I tore out the old thick gold carpeting on the stairs (it was dangerous) and hand stenciled my favorite leaf design on the beautiful oak stairs with regular acrylic paint. Granted, I did it up the sides of the stairs (not in the middle where we walk) and it's still there. Everyone that sees it comments about how beautiful it looks - especially after all these years. I must admit, it was definitely an act of love because, if I recall, it took me about a week to get each stair done.

Kitchen and bath paint is strong too, but whatever you use will need a poly/epoxy clear coat on top.

Use a high gloss porch & floor enamel. Glidden, Home Depot or Lowe's should have it.
