Citristrip, available at Lowe's and Home Depot.
Thanks Elizabeth. The Citristrip works but has required 3 applications to do a small area and I will have to take out a loan to purchase enough to do my 5'X18' floor. Any special tips to make the Citristrip more effective?

paint stripper you buy at hardware store. Be sure you use a face mask and heavy gloves as it is a chemical and fumes are bad. Also, try not to strip paint indoors. You need very good ventalation
If you are looking to strip paint of furniture, consider having it dipped in an acid bath.
I always use Citristrip. Cover it with plastic wrap after applying to keep it wet and working.
