Have too much light and heat with my living room skylight? Can the inside be painted? Or do I need to use shades etc?

I would think the paint would eventually peel/flake with the elements of weather/glass.

I put a plastic layer of gold color bottle glass pattern on bedroom windows getting strong sun. It’s been there years, anchored by slender molding painted to match window. Top is unattached to allow for cleaning as desired.

Muffles outdoor sound, helps maintain heat and cool in rooms.

You may want to consider some of that window film . There are one with varying degree of lightbblocking.

You can buy window tinting (like what is applied to auto windows) that block light and heat. Just follow the directions carefully.
