Yes! Any acrylic or fabric paint works.

I’ve used plain craft/acrylic paint and same paint with additive to make it compatible with fabric. Both worked great but didn’t need additive for something that doesn’t get washed. Just be sure to paint multiple thin layers to avoid drips or streaks.

You can use craft paint or latex paint - mix it 50/50 with fabric medium - this keeps the paint from getting stiff as a board.

spray paint, craft paint, watersprayspraHi Ginny, i painted a few over the years but am by no means a professional so if ur shade is expensive, please see someone who knows what they are doing .) I purchased mine at Wal-Mart or thrift stores or garage sales. First step is to either dust well, wipe off with damp towel or (do as i say, not as i do, lol ) i have evenput mi e in the shower and ran cold water over, then dry completely; at least 48 hours so ur paint will stick. Then either spray paint, craft paint, water colors or household paint, grab a paint brush or ur sprayer and have fun ! Oh I forgot to tell you, be sure and tape of anything you don't want painted before hand, including the light socket. I didn't use any additive, just paint ! They have last for years, as long as you don't get them wet 😉 even though I shovedmine in the shower, i didn't soak it...just shower of dust quickly because alot of shades are glued onto frame. Have fun, hope this helps 🤗

    Yes of course,

Tips: See the material of the shades before buying the perfect paint. The best paint is the one that is designed for specific material of your lamp shade.

Example: shades that are made of fabric, then fabric paint is the right companion. Metal, Glass, and ceramic lampshades will look excellent with the enamel paint.

I have used a "wash" technique on many lampshades over the years. Watered down paint and rewashing until you get the darkness you want. Be sure to work where the shade can be held up off the bottom edge so the water can drip off freely as it dries..
