Would it devalue my fireplace to paint it out in white? It is currently gray brick.

We have built-ins on either side of our gray brick fireplace, and I would love to paint the fireplace out in white. However, my husband feels it would be a bad idea.
I believe that we all should paint our homes in a way that makes us feel content. If the dark baseboards look strange, paint them white.
I don’t think having multiple colored baseboards should look strange, I have different colors and different textures for my base moulding and it looks good to me!
😊
No, you can paint your kitchen baseboards white without having to change other baseboards.
I agree with Kim!
Not at all. Paint them white and don't worry about the rest of the house. Sometimes where one area flows into the next without a dividing wall, it is good to keep all baseboards the same color. But from room to room, paint them whatever color you like.
I would paint them the same color as the wainscoting in the kitchen
I'd take strips of white paper and tape it over the baseboard in the kitchen and show him that it'll be okay, especially if the baseboards transition into dark baseboards. He just can't visualize it. Some need visual aids. After all, it's his house too...
I don't agree with that, specially if,there,is a room separation with the rest of the rooms.
Nope they don't! We painted our daughters room and we changed the baseboards and doors to white and the rest of the house was beige! It looked fine and was a refreshing change to everything else being beige!
Nope - the trend now it not to have your house to matchy-matchy. I have both white and stained trim in my home and think it adds character and uniqueness to each room.
My kitchen cabinets dark reddish brown. So is baseboards. Can I make floor lighter brown
I'm replacing all floors and all baseboards are reddish brown. I want same floor throughout. Should I paint baseboards
