Do you have to use chalk paint to get the best results on a table?

    Chalk paint is easy because you normally only need one coat and then a wax seal. I have seen other methods for paint but this seems the easiest.

    Absolutely not . Chalk paint is the easiest way , but not necessarily the best . Especially since you have reseal with the wax every year or two . It certainly wouldn't be my preference , but I'm more of a traditionalist when it comes to furniture .

    no you can use any paint you wish on the table, the difference is the amount of preparation that you want to do prior to painting. If you don't mind sanding and priming any paint will work.

    I, personally, don't like a Waddell on a dining table. Has a tendency to get sticky. I use several coats of water based poly instead in the finish of your choice.
