HELP - Painting & 1950's texture issue!

GrandmasHouseDIY on Feb 25, 2016Hmm I wonder if you used a really thick and very hard-core primer if that might work especially if you do two coats of it? I am afraid you may have to just do a skim coat over the entire wall. That pink stuff makes me think of the patch goop and I wonder if he had just used good old fashioned sheet rock mud if you wouldn't have had this problem at all. I would just do a light skim coat of mud over the entire wall if the primer idea was sure not to work. So sorry to hear about it! Good luck!Helpful Reply

Janet Pizaro on Feb 25, 2016If it were me I would insist he come back and re0do the entire job.Sounds like he did not properly prep the wall and he should be held accountable.Helpful Reply

Janet Ackenhusen on Feb 25, 2016The painter needed to pre-prime each spot BEFORE he painted the wall. Now the wall needs to be repainted and that should take care of all your splatter spots.Helpful Reply

The Bachelorette Pad Flip on Feb 25, 2016I flip houses, and I'm flipping a 1950s now. The key to patching is NOT just filling the holes. A very light orange peel (sell in a can at Lowe's) sprayed not just on the patch holes but slightly around it should help. Once it's dry...repaint. But I would insist that be on the contractor.Helpful Reply
