Would it devalue my fireplace to paint it out in white? It is currently gray brick.

We have built-ins on either side of our gray brick fireplace, and I would love to paint the fireplace out in white. However, my husband feels it would be a bad idea.
Move everything to the center of the room and cover with painters plastic tarps. Tape well also draping plastic sheets from wall to the floor. Wipe well with cleaner spackle and paint. Smells like heaven if you add some vanilla extract to the paint.
You can't, well It might be possible if you use the "Paint Roller" system!
I move everything to one side of room, cover with plastic, paint and move to the other side and paint. Fairly easy, do the same with walls.
Move everything to one side, Cover with a drop cloth . Paint that part, then move it to the other side.
I do what Jeffery Cole does. I remove all the small stuff out of the room. End tables, ottoman, decorations. Move all the big furniture to the center of the room and cover. Why move stuff to one side and then have to move to the other.
Cover the furniture with drops clothes and paint away.
