How to paint cabinet door hinges?

I'm in the process of painting my kitchen cabinets white. I've already replaced the door pulls with stainless steel. I don't want to have to buy new hinges. So, should I paint the hinges white to match the cabinets or should I use silver? What is the best steps for painting the hinges? Thanks

I personally like the idea of silver hinges. think this post might help with the technique: http://www.hometalk.com/diy/paint/furniture/how-i-spray-paint-hardware-1121619

If you DO paint them, please take them off, take them apart and spray paint them. The best thing would be to take any existing paint off ot them and use original hinges, but if you do choose painting, please do not leave them on the cabinets. Also, invest in new screws to rehang them with. Take one with you to the home improvement store so you can get exactly what was on there. You can usually get either silver or brass screws--sometimes black if that's what you need! I have had to deal with way too many painted hinges in my lifetime to let someone else go through that torture!

Thanks for the advice. This is the 3rd go around for me painting kitchen cabinets. I always say I'm never doing it again. But we bought a foreclosed house that had been sitting for 2 years and need major work. I always take the hinges off before I paint my cabinets. Thanks again yall.

I painted my kitchen cabinet door handles becasue I ordered the ones I loved and could not get them in black, so you can paint hinges. My advice would be to make sure they are clean and take them off the cabinet doors. Get a top quality spray paint, for metal, that dries fast and in the color to match your knobs. Spray outside in the shade and I used an old box to lay them on and paint away. Good luck! It is not a hard job, just a little tedious because you have to paint both sides at different times.

I took my hinges off and spray painted them with stainless spray paint. Came out great. Matched my stainless handles.

don't paint, use Rub 'n Buff? It comes in most metal color finishes, a tube goes a long way and it stays put.
