Can I use chalk paint on my Hostess Heated cabinet?
My Hostess Trolly cupboard is constructed of metal, it is a boring brown imitation wood efect. I would love to paint the outside with chalk paint.
The legs yes..... the top... use cutting board oil on the wood... the paint would not be good for food prep
If you are using it for food preparation no
I recently saw an advert. for colorful stains. If you want to change the color of your butcher block and are not using it for food prep. I would say light sand and try these stains...they are translucent so you see the wood grain and very light in color so not gaudy. But food prep and chalk paint??? I would have to say not if you are using it. If it's just for design and counter top...still question it...since it would be tempting to even slice a sandwich on it...when busy in the kitchen. So not advisable in my opinion.
I have counter top, I have for over 50 years old. I sand it once in a while, clean it with apple cider vinegar and oil it . i use it mostly to roll pie dough. Cut veggies
And such. Millie
I found cutting board oil at Lowe's
A fun color on the legs, like turquoise or lime green maybe, depending on your decor, of course.
