What kind of paint & sealer should I use for a faux rug?

I want to paint a faux rug on my deck what kind of paint and sealer

    I would use an exterior laytex or acrylic. Seal with polycrylic. Don't forget knee pads!

    Hi JoAnn,

    If you're painting a wood deck, the best thing to use is wood stain. I've attached a video for you take a look at, but if your deck is already stained, and would be hard to restain, the best paint to use is acrylic latex paint. It will last longer than other paint so that you don't have to repaint it often.     Buy a set of artist's oil paints at your local art or hobby store. No need to seal. Keep in mind all colors will fade over time in direct sun, but to me, the mellowing colors look great! Good luck.

    Use deck paint. . .oil is more durable than latex. For the decoration of the rug though you can use latex. Good luck. . . sounds like a very fun project.
