Painting an accent wall questions

My home is not very large, but is open concept. Also I live in Florida. Currently the walls in the public part of my home are all the same color - lets call it beigey (16 ft ceilings). I have a partial wall (10 ft H for 6 ft then bar H for rest of kitchen) that breaks up the space between the kitchen and LR that I want to paint. Rest of house is calm colors. Think it would be OK to go a BRIGHT Color on this piece of wall?? Or should I stay with calm muted color??? I really am having a hard time with this. Thanks Maureen

I think accent wells that are bright add a lot of pop to a space, especially open concept. But it also depends on your current decor. If your decor is pretty neutral, go with a bright wall.

I think a bright color would work really well on the partial wall since all your other walls are painted beige-ish! Bring some of the bright color you choose into your living room with maybe pillows or frames, and also in your kitchen, to tie it all together. Can be something as simple as a dish cloth the same color as the bright color, or some canisters. Be sure and send us a picture when you're finished!

I think a bright color should work. Why not try a sample canister of the color you are considering? The paint suppliers have these for a minimal cost.
