Process of painting an inside brick floor

I have a room with an old brick floor . I would like to freshen it up by painting it. Any advice?

Hi Sandy, they make specific paints for masonry/concrete work. My best advice would be to make sure you get it as clean as possible before painting. -

Definitely prime first as the bricks will soak in a lot of paint. Then I might even do a chalk paint in more of a white wash instead of complete coverage. Since paint on a floor is going to wear over time, why not embrace that look and give it a worn and weathered look from the beginning. I think this would create a cozy look! -

Paint it white and sand it a bit so some of the original brick shines through it will be beautiful -
