Would it devalue my fireplace to paint it out in white? It is currently gray brick.
We have built-ins on either side of our gray brick fireplace, and I would love to paint the fireplace out in white. However, my husband feels it would be a bad idea.
If not done correctly, it will chip and peel. There really aren't any bad things to say about it. It's inexpensive. It's a project where you have complete control as far as color and sheen. There's no tear out mess to clean up. No dry wall to repair or replace. And treated right it will hold up indefinitely. I know because I painted the tile around my tub and my vanity which was a laminate sink top about 3 years ago and it looks as pretty today as it did then. My next project is going to be the floor tile by my front door.
I used Zinser 123 primer. I painted with latex paint. And I put 3 coats of MinWax Polycrylic on everything. I used white latex paint so I didn't use polyurethane because over time it will yellow.
painting you can stencil too today they have sooooo many beautiful one have fun
Thank you

I have an option of either buying vinyl tile stickers or paining over my kitchen tiles with tile paint. Which one would last the longest and look the best?
