Suggestions for easy painting stairs

I have always been happy with the way I painted the attic stairs. Treads green, risers white. But they are attic stairs so of course don't usually get as much wear. But these have been done 15 years and still don't need repainting.

I pulled the carpet off my stairs as well. We went off white and put some carpet treads we found at Home Depot on them. They are outdoor carpet, so we stapled them in place

the last stairs I painted ....I painted every other one...so I had an escape route..let them dry and then painted the others.

Why not just sand them down and stain them?

Hi, good luck with your stairs! I’d suggest using Mediterranean type tiles or stick-on type, on the risers, to coordinate with your colour scheme. Then paint and protect the treads also to coordinate. Look on Pinterest for some ideas like this. They look stunning when complete

My only suggestion is to only paint every other step so you can use the stairs till they dry completely.
