If the ceiling paint is in good condition and white, I'd leave it alone. Most houses have white ceilings, so what you want in order to sell the house, is what most people are used to. If you really want a grey ceiling, I'd go for a very light grey or white with a tint of grey.Helpful Reply -

I would keep it white for creating a open feeling. Grays also tend to play very differently based on lighting.Helpful Reply -

I agree with Sal, if it looks good don't paint it. If it needs it go with white.Helpful Reply -

Take the color of the trim in the house into consideration before painting all gray. Not everyone cares for it. Very neutral colors that show a warm inviting presence, white ceilings are a safe bet. But if someone really loves your home, they hopefully can see past any color.Helpful Reply -

If you ask your listing agent, they will tell you to paint everything vanilla. Realtors know that everyone has very specific ideas about pain and vanilla sells when nothing else does. Be especially cautious, if you do this, to go with a light grey to make the rooms look bigger and lighter...people love light. I once saw a kitchen in chocolate brown in a house that was listed and it took months to sell...not until after the kitchen was painted a light color.Helpful Reply -

do the ceiling lighter, unless the ceilings are high. I love color on my ceilings..but they are low and so I stick with white or a much lighter color than the walls.Helpful Reply -
