Projects with Old, Flaky Paint may be "stylish" but remember that this may be lead paint. Be careful that your children and/or pets don't eat it.

    Super tip! Old flaky paint prior to 1978 can have lead in it. Test kits are available at the big box stores.

      Thank you for posting this. I have a door from a 1910 house that I have been wanting to use for my pantry door, but I have been hesitant due to not knowing if it would have lead paint. Not putting it up now. I'm a cancer survivor and that kind of things scare me. Don't want to go thru it again.
