T Do you want a paint color suggestion or to paint over the blue that is their. I love blue but not every shade of blue more midnight indigo blue and one that borders on midnight turning a small amount of teal, not green. I love it with crisp white but also with butterscotch to really make it pop. Covering blue well I guess watch the video.

I'm a color lover and the bolder and brighter the better. I would go with well disclaimer, not knowing the room size,I would go with one large piece of art framed in brushed matte gold. Nothing frilly nor flowery just a very moving piece. It can be in your face such as one single color from the opposite side of the color wheel or a literally moving piece. I have a love for tress and I have a piece that I got at homegoods,I get nothing from them I mention it because it doesn't have to break the bank, anyway it's a good size about 18"×2.5' the tree looks like it's swaying to the breeze it's dancing. I absolutely love it and the colors are all unexpected. I wish I could put it up because that's what I mean,it's my favorite it makes me want to sway and dance. So a piece that speaks your soul. Hey now you know my soul😂! A bold color demands a bold look otherwise things look and feel off. And less is more. If you want to stencil over it go for a gold paint and not a straight out paint over but a very faded look so it looks like its always been their, pick a large for a lack of a better word, pattern? You know not a tiny one and please not something that "looks" like a tile, that's boring. One that looks like a very classic old wallpaper. Very regal. Simple yet you can't take your eyes off of it because it is so perfect. OK, but that's not all, if you like funky retro then go with geometric design or artwork. I might do outline of large circles falling from the wall and gathering at the bottom so less on top and more as they come down wall. I would use a paint color that compliments the room next to it to make the transition but in a room that you don't need to have that flow such as a bathroom or powder room or your bedroom then really use several colors and vary the size of the circles but don't just do small on top and large on bottom I mean every raindrop is different. You can even make them spread out as they appear to hit the floor. Abstract like that dahli guy. I think that's the correct spelling and I think it's the correct artist you know the piece The Scream where the face appears to be melting as the face is screaming? That guy and that technic. You can go freehand. I stay away from well known pieces well except one but hey my son was in 1st grade and his vision of Starry Night is awesome as only a mother can appreciate, but back on track,I stay away from things like that because well it's obviously not the real thing so what's the point? In my dining I room I have only art work that was done by each of my 3 sons and at different ages because I love them and their personalities can be seen. I had them framed at Michaels I believe, and that wasn't cheap but boy they are treasures to me. So the moral of the story is that you have to go with your gut with what speaks to you not what's right or wrong because who are we,sorry but I don't know you. Truth is I did this basically on my own,yes my husband drove me but I didn't ask for his opinion I saw it and went for it and I have never looked back. Margaret, it took me 50 years to climb out of the conformist box and I closed it up and shipped it away. I suggest everyone do the same thing, but don't wait cause life is short. So it's great to go online and get ideas I have asked for help but I also check out pinterest. Then I go without a plan and look and if my heart skips a beat I take it home. I also don't use things as intended, why should i? I have on our piano a candle holder as a piece of sculpture, my eyes can't deal with the flickering of candles so it's a large piece and it makes a statement. I also have a piece that's for hanging jewelry on and it looks like a tree without leaves so it sits their as well. Someone asked me why I had it there since it's for jewelry and I said cause I like it there. I mean I like trees. I guess I tend to see the not obvious. Hope that makes sense. So I guess I would love to know what makes you tick? What do you want to put up but question your judgment because, according to society, it's not the "right" thing. I mean you chose a very dominant color a very bold statement so you have your personal style and likes and dislikes because a lot of people would shy away from it because "changing it later in the future if they sell its going to be a pain to cover it up",so they live for the what might happen and not in the present time, how sad. I was like that. But you ,I think, have an idea and something is holding you back. If you want to try a stencil, buy it and try it on a poster board to see if you like it what have you got to lose? If you like a piece of artwork get it and try it out if it doesn't work or feel right return it, the point is to try it before you give up on something that could be really great and put a smile on your face every time you look at it,then move to the next room and don't look back. Such freedom. I really am sorry for the length but I really do think about things and give you the best advice I can so that you end up with the room that you dreamed of but might be timid to try. It's not scarry, scarry is paying the mortgage or God forbid,an illness. This is a piece of cake. You know if that color was in your kitchen a piece of cake in a mega large canvas would look great especially with strawberry colored frosting. And no pink is not my favorite color but it would hold its own against that blue if it was just a simple piece of cake. Any more questions or any clarification needed just reply and I will try my best to help. I sure hope that you post a few pictures or at least an update of what you go with. I love blues and greens and browns= nature but with no bugs.
