
Central heating fan stays on but temperature not programed setting

There are may different styles of controls for central heating. Could you post a picture please of your wall control/thermostat? That way we could see exactly what style you have and be able to give answers specific to your situation.Helpful Reply -

the fan circulates the air....it can run independent of the thermostat stat. At least that’s how it goes at my house.Helpful Reply -

Our central fan has a switch on the unit itself to turn it on constant run or off to operate by thermostat according to temperature when it's needed. (Look for that switch on unit if its not on thermostat, usually easy to find). Some thermostats have a switch for constant fan running that you manually turn on or off.Helpful Reply -

If above comments don't work and it is a relatively new gas furnace it may have tripped a safety due to high heat caused by dirty filter which might cause the fan to stay on. If you turn off the power to the furnace, not just the thermostat, it should reset when you turn the power back on. Check that filter.Helpful Reply -
