How can I make wire shelves in a fridge sturdier?

I rent and recently the refrigerator broke and the one they brought me has flimsy wire shelves in it that nothing will sit on without falling over. Does anyone have some ideas how to strengthen them or better yet replace them with? The shelves sit on little plastic ledges made into the inside of frige.

Check your lease, carefully. You may have an "out" re: usability of appliances.

Thank you. I pay pretty low rent here and dont want to rock the boat too much so they dont raise the rent or evict me. Its just an inconvenience, but i appreciate your advice.

That is a landlord problem. A simple solution would be to gave some boards cut the height in between the shelves and slide them along the sides of the fridge.

Thank you for your great suggestion. I thought about this and putting contact paper or something like that on the boards.

Hello, this is a great video on how to make your own shelves using shelving material from the hardware store

Thank you but this uses the same flimsy wire shelving just like what is already in it.

Go to the Dollar Tree and purchase foam board. Cut to fit and place on top of the wire shelves.

i agree with placing something studier over the entire top of each shelf. Finding something inexpensive would be the challenge. Maybe thick plexiglass. You could put supports posts all in a vertical line underneath in the middle of each shelves but they might always be in the way.
