Stay away from LG and Samsung, unless you know someone who will work on them. I had major problems finds someone to repair them. I had a whirlpool front loaders, loved it and never had a problem, the worked for 15 yrs and then I left them with house. Bought LG and it smelled, grew mildew even when I cleaned once a week with bleach and left the door open to dry. Also they say they will clean 15 pairs of jeans at once, who would do that, you wash with a small amount of water and you are just washing dirt into your clothes. Keep your loads small. My LG keep breaking down, I got rid of it after 7 yrs with it. I now have a whirpool top loader that is an HE. Still need to do smaller loads because of the limit of water it uses. My husband works on a flight line and really gets dirty and sweaty. We do small loads. Can"t seem to get enough water to wash a king size quilt. Need to do 2 washes with it Usually the people that have the front loaders, do not care about the smell or mold or how their clothes smell. Good luck.
I DO NOT recommend Samsung!! Good TVs, terrible appliances!!
Read up online about the pros and cons of each from owners. Everyone has their own opinion so you wont' find a definitive answer here. Look at the problems people have had and RATED on an online website to let you know the good and bad features of users not manufacturers claims.
I personally wouldn't have a front load washer just for the fact that it gets mold around the rubber seal and it stains and you can't get to a lot of the mold unless you do a complete frontal tear down (I've seen it done) and I honestly don't think it would be worth the trouble.
My LG washer/dryer have (knock on wood) been terrific. Our high tech Samsung is the worst fridge I’ve had, KitchenAid the nicest though all door ice machines have major problems. Bosch is the very best range I’ve ever had and I am a fan of their dishwashers. Personally I think the over-tech of appliances is too much but I do see the appeal.
