If it's what Yamini is pointing to, it seems to be a power factor correction device. I have looked into these a little bit, and they are essentially a scam, so no, they are not worth $329. Such a device might help for large commercial sites, but are pretty worthless for residential settings. Moreover, this thing will be drawing power 24-7, and might even increase your bills. You'd be better off getting a Kill-a-Watt or other device that plugs in between a device and the wall, and measures the actual electricity drawn by every device. This way, you can figure out what is drawing a vampire load. In other words, find out what devices are still using power when in standby mode or turned off, then unplug them or turn off their power strips. Never heard of it but sounds like a waste to me....kind of like the ultra effective roach retarder I bought from Shaper Image years ago.  I lived in DC for my masters program and 100s of roaches would scatter every time I turned on the kitchen light.  Bought 3 devices and was delighted to see that the roaches no longer scattered.....they just did back flips off the devices!  I wasted about $200 there if I remember correctly.  Boric acid and roach-proof solved the problem for about $10

I have 2 units of Energy Crusher. My electrician recommended on installing them I brought them and noticed around 9% lesser electric bills. I have had them for 4 months now and it seems to be working fine. I can return them back if I am not satisfied with it as it has 6 months money back guarantee. Hey guys my recent electric bills says 11 % less compared to my earlier bills. So I am going to keep these 2 units of Energy Crusher as I still need to reap benefits for what I have spent on them. I think its a reliable product coz many of the big electric industries like ABB too manufacture similar products for small scale and large scale. So if these companies are manufacturing similar products you can not rule out this product so easily. Being an Engineer I understand the working of this product. People think its a waste of cash because they do not understand the working of such products. Its pretty simple. People believe this once you understand how the product works.

Steve, I installed 2 new air conditioners at my home. One in my living room and another in my home office. According to the previous use of electricity I expected my bills to rocket after installing 2 new air conditioners. But I was surprised to see a 11% low according to what I expected my bills would be. 
My electric usage is pretty high as I use a lot of electric equipments and air conditioners. So I guess Energy crusher works for me.

Steve, I use a lot of electricity and I think I am making some savings using Energy Crusher. My savings are proportional to the amount of electricity I use. If you use less electricity even then your savings are proportional to the amount of power you use. Lesser or higher the power you use, you are ultimately saving. If you are spending around 50 bucks daily and if you are able to save 5 bucks, its the same as spending 20 bucks and saving 2 bucks. Saving electricity and money is the ultimate goal right? So it doesn't matter if you use less electricity or more electricity . So A LOT of electricity doesn't matter here. Besides I am just recommending the product because I have saved something. Just letting others know.

Problem with a plug in unit is that it only benefits the circuit that you actually plug the unit into, so if you have 12 different circuits, you have to buy one for each

Fact is that capacitance works for commercial and industrial applications where there is an abundance of inductive loads, but home units are a waste.  LOOK UP STETZERIZER FILTERS.  They even say that you need one for each circuit and they only cost $29.00 each!!!  Can you dispute that Brad C???????? I just came across this after typing in a key word. . .Interesting . . .I've been in the energy business for several years now and I've researched this for almost a year because I have many customers (commercial, industrial and residential) that would benefit from a unit that works. I came across a company where the product is made in AMERICA (stay away for the others) The problem is the cheap made in China stuff doesn't work which has presented these types of products a challenge. But with a lifetime guarantee and an approximate ROI for low usage home owners of 12 to 18 months it's worth looking at for $299. It has a guaranteed 8% savings, a lifetime guarantee, and before I could bring it to my customers I needed to know it works. . .at least the plug in units work. So I bought one for my house. It's a 2500 sf house, four people, two teenagers, seven big screen TVs, six computers, security lighting dusk to dawn etc. So far I'm getting approximately 18% savings over last years monthly usage. It lowers the usage. That's a 7-8 month ROI break even for me.They have hundreds of commercial installations for companies like Honeywell, Siemens , McDonald's, KFC, ShopRite, Praxair etc. You need to really do your diligence don't believe all the BS about everything and trust very few. . .proof it yourself or talk to others who have bought. I am an Engineer and an Electrical Contractor and have sold and profited on power factor control for over 10 years. As a commercial technology it works as advertised. As a residential technology it does not because by law, all residential meters measure real power only. There is no basis in the physics for this to work on a residential system nor does it stand up to any measurements I have performed. I do not dispute that there are those who claim savings based on the electric bill, but I also note that historical compairisons of electric bills show variations as high as +/- 25% year over year. And not to paint anyone with a brush, but I have seen a great deal of shilling in boards like this (sorry).

I don't think it works effectively. The best option is to think about energy-efficient equipment or how to make your home more energy-efficient. Also, there is a website with energy suppliers where you can get energy quotes and thus get savings every month.
