Is it okay to caulk stairway treads and risers with the trim?
So I painted the trim and risers of our entryway staircase and the paint bled through the tape. Is it okay to caulk over it to hide the mess? Or are there any other way to remove the paint without painstakingly scraping it?

Consider adding quarter round
add quarter round trim molding it would look nice, more finished look
Wood needs to be able to flex. Lynn and Kathy gave the best advice.
Scrape the paint off. Quarter round on every stair would look terrible Caulk would not last long over painted surfaces and look ugly.
Get some latex paint remover, spray on a rag and use it to wipe the paint off. A little elbow grease will provide a better finish than the bandaid fix.
Using a little "Goof Off" on a rag will get most of it up, and then wrapping the rag around the end of putty knife will make it easier to get off hardwood floor. Follow up with a rag on a putty knife with paint thinner.
Hi there, caulking would work but it's a short-term fix and will look grubby after a few weeks. Your best bet is to look for a paint remover. Water-based paints are easy to get off.
