What s thbest way to repair plaster walls not Sheetrock but plaster?

Our a/c drain had stopped up and condensation from the attic caused a leak in our attic that came out at the ceiling of my bathroom. The plaster has separate and looks terrible. We had it repaired and it came back. I just want to be able to repair it myself as it is not as large an area as before. attached are a few photos. Thank you!

    I hope the AC drain problem was solved. You will need to remove the damaged plaster down to the wood substrate. Use a razor box knife to score around the damaged plaster as deep as you can. Then gently use a hammer and chisel remove the plaster down to the substrate. Get some drywall patching compound. Moisten the repair area with a damp cloth or sponge. Stuff the repair with the patching compound. Use a wide putty knife to smooth the compound with the surface. Once dry you can prime and paint.

    Believe this or not,being in trade for over 30years as a Decor Specialist

    Director, working with teams & using many different products with all sorts of claims,'we' have gone back to a good old brand, Selleys"... however they have very much improved in the past 8 years especially, & currently on the market is what would be considered the same product;but not as its truly much better{which some of us in trade wonder why they ain't re-advertising with a new look,to inform especially DYI persons as now its been made even easier for smaller hands to use?!}

    •Simply called Selleys No More Gaps//// MULTIPURPOSE..* this is the difference.

    Now we have used Selleys mixed with other products" to achieve better results though this really ought to please... *Its superior crack resistant with High flex & amazingly it is extremely long lasting & works well.

    We are just completing an entire place of plaster with this substance because a previous place done a year ago with the worst plaster problems, today still looks as if new plastering was done only yesterday...there are no splits or cracks appearing,& this was a property with its entire structure moving (& as far as we have found out the owners of that property still haven't finished with soughting all the structure problems...i mean we are talking about plaster in chunks that were falling out though remarkably this place on the inside looks sound!)

    *Trade Trick... if you are serious about making your materials tougher, then one would require to use small amounts of this plaster(in old plastic containers)& mix in Matt clear paint~ quarter amount exactly to the amount that one placed out~ & have wooden skewers(big/thick) & immediately mix in well & use straight away....

    •please always wash surfaces well with warm water of 500ml to 2-3 soup spoons of dissolved salt(approx. amounts used), & ALWAYS make sure the area is completely dry b4 continuing... another words 24 hours wait is safe.

    From what i can see this is a simple job; The Selleys product comes in white as well as clear..i would stick with the white, its smoothing is easier... & always use pure cotton cloths when working/ for soft water wiping this is to get top results.....(pls dont forget your gloves:)

    Strange enough,this product though the packaging hasn't changed,where to find it has;meaning one can see it everywhere & not just hardware places.

    I hope that this may assist you..wishing only wellness & Happy Crafting// or Repairing in this case.🙃

    BTW..from M.Rã..previous write up on repairing plaster.....

    I had forgotten to mention that PREP work is required(again from what i have seen there may be a moisture problem, if so get it determined what it is before attempting any fixing... If you know what it is & its basic,it won't take a lot of hard work filing back the surface...sometimes fillers are used pending on the problem however this product can be built up, literally,with wait times of 15-30 mins inbetween so one can complete the area required quicker, though warmer weather is best:)

    ...apologies for failing to mention this😌

    I have never heard of this product, are you from the UK? I have a 117 year old house in the US with opportunities to repair hairline cracks (some ceiling) and am always willing to give something a try. If you are outside The US can you give any clue what I might look for here.
