How to disguise a junction box cover over the bathroom mirror?

I replaced a single light bar with two separate light bars in the master bath. Now I have an ugly plastic cover over the junction box which cannot be hidden with a drywall patch. I do plan to frame the mirror. Are there any clever ideas out there?

Just painting it the wall color will help. My first thought was something decorative, but even if you find something that fits your decor, it would only draw more attention to it ijn my opinion. I'll be doing this in our master bathroom one day as Hubby goofed and put only one box over our long double sink vanity. My plan is to build a shallow depth box to cover the center box and conduit to the other two boxes. Our cabinets and trim are all stained so I'll do the same with the box.

I would go to the hardware store and find a chrome bar that was wide enough to cover the junction box. It can be cut to length to fit between the two sets of lights.

I would do something decorative right on the cover to match decor. Perhaps a stencil or artwork to make it look like a medallion.....

How about some type of clock attached with Velcro.I love having a clock in my bathroom to keep track of time,or a starburst mirror also attached with Velcro would look nice

Is the cover flush with the wall? If so, you could take down the light fixtures, and put paintable wallpaper above the mirror, or on the entire wall. Then cut out the area where the lights will be remounted and paint the wallpaper. After that, frame your mirror and replace the light fixtures. Paintable wallpaper is thick enough to cover without showing the edges.

I believe the junction box has to be accessible in case of an electrical problem. I switched locations of my light switch in my bathroom. I had to leave a flat plate where the old switch was, so I covered that plate with the wallpaper so it blends in.

art work on a stretched canvas that needs no frame. attached to the wall with the Velcro command strips. there are lots of them around or you can paint your own and even make the stretched canvas the size you would like for this area. some folks do this over the electrical panel using a bigger canvas on a piano hinge for easy access.

I think a clock is the best idea. You could use a small painting/art work or a small wreath or just leave it painted like your walls.

Search on wood appliqués to find a decorative element that will tie in with the frame you plan to put around the mirror.

Please remember is it 100% against code to "physically" hide, as in behind drywall, any outlet. Please check codes for your area. Just an FYI .

I'd do as Barb suggests and disguise it with an applique, bringing the applique out past the sides to make it look more purposeful.

If all wiring and electrical components are removed then it is safe to cover.
