Hi Audleahy, I have a deep couch and have the same trouble. I use bolsters! You can cover them with a coordinating fabric. No more dangling feet! And, if your guests are tall, you can just remove them.

Before I buy I take all the measures just to make sure .
I just got a full size slab of 3" dark grey foam that is a "camping pad" at my home store. I cut it to fit behind pillows with an electric carving knife. It blends right in as the couch is dark blue. Saved my knee trying to get in and out of it when I had an injury. I left it in cause its too comfortable. Cost $13
