I have an old dresser the drawers no longer close all the way and are very wobbly. I would like to paint this piece but I don’t know how to fix the drawers to work correctly again.

Wood swells in humid temperatures, try some candle wax rubbed on the drawers.

Try to put screws or nails in center support where drawers glide to open and close

If the old drawers have a center slide, try realigning it and making sure there are no splinters. Yes, waxing it can help. If it has drawer slides, they may be bent or misaligned and can be replaced. A great many types of slides are available at Home Depot or Ace Hardware.

Hi Leigha, Take the drawers out and check the track that they slide on. It might need a nail or a screw. Next, check the bottom of the drawers, and see if their tracks are intack. You might need a screw or naiil there also. Put some furniture polish, on the tracks and the bottom of the draws. Spray it on good.

I think some of my tracks may possibly be missing. Are these easy to purchase at a retail store?
