How do I replace a worn rope seat of an OLD ladderback chair?

Z on Nov 04, 2015I believe you are speaking of a rush seat. Here's a video showing just how to reweave a new seat. http://www.borissmirnov.com/wp-content/uploads/ori-set-stickley-ladder-back-chairs.jpgHelpful Reply

M'sMammy on Nov 05, 2015Not sure of your chair design, but I think you could make a wood base by cutting half circles out to accommodate where the legs come up. Then upholster that seat. It would basically sit (be attached) on top of the side pieces where the rope was looped around.Helpful Reply

Patricia Ann Freeman Baskin on Nov 05, 2015Thank you, Becky, for the video, however, I did mean "rope". Grandpa was a cowboy who put seat in and used what he had. M'sMammy...I like your idea and will give it a try. Thhaniks!Helpful Reply
