How do we fix dry rot in a small section of wood siding sheets?

We live in a manufactured home (trailer) and have several sections of the wood sheet siding that have dry rot. Is there a way to replace just the part that is bad--or do we have to replace the whole 4' x 8' sheet?
We tried to repair an area on one and cannot get the "patch" to blend in with the contour of the board.

There all kinds of patching compounds/putty for replacing rot. It might help for small areas but it's not intended for large patches. I've also used Bondo to repair my house's columns.
