How to fix bowed picnic table?

Acquired picnic table with purchase of our home. Picnic table never cared for, but we used a waterproof stain on it. The top was bowed and we'd like to straighten it up. Is that possible?
Thanks,
K

If your top boards are attached to a metal frame you can remove the top boards and replace them. 2x6's might work. I painted my older picnic table with "exterior" house paint that matched my trim and it has survived the outside elements very well! I painted both sides of the boards.
Mine is all wood, but replacement of the bowed boards may be the answer. Thanks.
I bought an old table that had one bowed leg. My friend who was a genius at working with wood, used water and braces and it finally straightened out some. For a picnic table, I think it would be easier to just replace the boards.
