How to repair peeling top coat on dinette kitchen table?

Outer edge where we 2 sit is peeling off. Can I peel it all off and what do I recover it with?

    If it is an edging strip you can either glue it back on or remove it and purchase another one. They come in a variety of colors in the wood grain pattern.

      It is not an edging strip. A Formica top with separate curved wooden edge piece that looks like it has been stained and then covered with polyacrylic or whatever. It is the polyacrylic that is peeling.

    You should be able to lightly sand it and then recoat with varathane or varnish. Use at least two coats. If you happen to scratch the stain then re-apply a coat before varnishing.
