Try making a paste of baked Nguyen soda and lemon. Leave on for 15/20 minutes then wipe off with a warm towel
Then, remove the doors, mask like crazy and spray paint.
Agreed - there is a spray chalk paint that could work well for this!
Rub and Buf is sold at Michaels and Hobby Lobby and works wonders on all kinds of materials. Try it !
I have a leaded front door that after years of sun exposure the lead looked terrible...I decided to try a silver metallic craft paint and used a very thin artists brush to paint all the lead...it took a very long time but it refreshed the look and pops on my black front door...it was a lot of careful slow work as I took pains not to get it on the glass you need to wipe it off immediately ....have you considered painting the cabinet brown wood to a lovely white or cream color? I think it would update the whole look if you paint the lead as well....just a suggestion and also the interior of the cabinet as well to show off your collectibles and dishes inside as well....
