Is it stuck to the table in places or did it ruin the finish?
Can you please post a picture? Thanks.
Try rubbing some mayonnaise on your table top. The oil in the mayonnaise may help remove the plastic tablecloth damage as long as your wood table top is stained and then has a clear sealer over the stain. You can use a non scratch kitchen sponge to gently scrub the damaged areas.
Lightly sand if it’s the cotton from the bottom of the tablecloth then Murphy’s oil soap the top till off
It is hard to answer without knowing what the damage is.
Can you lightly sand the table?
Hi Bev: Sanding the area lightly and then re-staining should do the trick. Or, depending on whether there is still plastic stuck ot the table, you can cover it with a paper towel and then cover that with a cloth and iron it until the plastic melts a bit and scrape the plastic off with a wide plastic putty knife. Then, do the sanding staining thing.
Can you be more specific in what the damage was?
Is it fuzzy cloth backed sticking to the table?
Is it heat or water damage?
