Stone walkways- How can i level a pathway in my yard?

    You have to have a level substrate of gravel and sand to put the stones in place, and then lock it in place with poly sand or grout.

    Hi Ronx, If you don't already have the stone, you might consider recycled rubber stones! There is much less back breaking work involved, they won't crack or freeze, they are great looking and will last for a very long time! Just a thought.

    Is it an already established pathway, or just a dirt path that you want to fix up or do you want to put down a pathway? Do you want gravel, brick, paver, concrete form? There are many to choose from and can be done in different ways.

    Agree with Sharon's comment above, that regardless of whatever style of stepping stones that you choose for your top layer, in order for the pathway to have proper support from shifting, sinking, erosion, cracking, breaking, etc. you will need to first dig out and level the earth below the stepping stones, and cover it with a layer of crush gravel.
