Water comes in bed room when it rains hard. This room is a converted garage. It is on a decline from the street. So water comes downhill to converge at the house. It seeps right into the house. What can I do to stop this?

back track the water to see where it is entering, if on the roof, or the gutters or at ground level. Ground level, you will need to reroute the water, we had the city put a small berm across the front of our driveway as we were getting everything uphill into the backyard. We had started with French drains, redid the driveway with an “open”trench across the front of the drive where the pipe is usually ran, used metal grating to be able to drive across it. The box stores have drainage trenches that will hold a car’s weight if installed properly. It’s usually used in front of garages that are lower and then a pipe is installed on one end to take it to the yard.

Sorry I’ve taken so long in replying. A berm is a “Bump”. In our case, it stops water from the streets south and East of the home coming down the driveway. They built up a short asphalt bump that’s about four inches high, six to eight inches wide at the bottom, and runs the whole width of the drive. Ours flares out at the street. It feels like a narrow speed bump when you drive over it

this was our fix to the constant flooded yard. I wish the grates went the entire width as the water came between the grates. The city did put the berm in which has allowed us to access the yard after a rain and has stopped gravel from across the street coming down the drive
