Bath Fitter tub overlay advice needed

Do any of you have any experience with using Bath Fitter? Please share your experience and if you don't mind, what you paid for their product including sidewalls. Thank you so much!

Yes, we have. We had Bath Fitter do the shower in our bathroom. They arrived on time, did an excellent job, and cleaned up any mess. The only caution I would have is to make sure you know EXACTLY what your bath renovation will cost and whether or not you could get done what you want to have done cheaper than Bath Fitter. Our shower wound up being around $4,000. It's a one-piece fiberglass unit. Looks great, and it's held up well, but I'm thinking we could probably have had ceramic tile at that price.

We used Bath Fitters. I don't remember the cost, but I felt it was well worth it. He started on time, cleaned up the mess, and it added value to our home. He turned a bath tub/shower into a walk in shower.

I didn't have such a great experience with Bath Fitter. When they came out for the estimate, I was shocked at what it cost. I know that it is still less that the gut and re-model but I just didn't like the feel of the fiberglass surround and opted for a new tub and tile. I would suggest that if you do go with them don't agree on the first price they give you. I think that they are flexible in the pricing and try to get the most they can and hope you bite! Well, getting back to another reason why I didn't go with them was that the salesman got really 'd off when we told him that we would talk it over and get back to him in a couple days (that's the truth, we hadn't counted them out yet, but wanted to talk it over). This guy had a semi-melt-down.....lol, slammed his book shut and was very un-professional and stormed out of the house. I'm sure he was not a typical salesman. So that's it, good luck and I'm sure your bathroom will look great after it's done.

I've not heard the best about Bath Fitter. If you can afford it, I'd suggest going with porcelain tile. I'm having four bathrooms updated. My two shower stalls include the base pan with tile, sidewalks and back wall with a niche and the shower door. Each one is running about $6000. It's a lot of money but then again you get what you pay for. I personally don't care for the look of a manufactured shower surround.

Cost of doing a plastic coating over existing systems and walls is a bit high. The benefit of using a product such as this is getting it done quickly. However the plastic will scratch easily and can become yellow over time if wrong chemicals are used when cleaning. I would agree with a few others and have the walls repaired and retiled. A professional glazing company can come in and refinish the tub so it ends up looking like new.
