Check all of the air vents from your sewer line to the outside to see that they are not clogged, bent or broke. Have your septic pumped.

If you have a crawl space, you need to check for a pipe that has come loose. Or a vent pipe going uo through a wall may be disconnected or too short and the gases are being pulled in by the A/C or something.
So do I Jody would like to know how to stop the smell also... But I think the problem is throughout our county/city!!
er had this problem a few years ago in our restaurant and our plumber said the sewer water levels were low and to pour lots of hot water down the drains from time to time to eliminate the problem. Worked for us, hope it helps you.
Be sure all the traps have water in them....that is what they are there for. We had a sink that we did not use very often and the trap dried out and sewer gas got in....pewie!
