I honestly would call a plumber or call Home Advisor. They are really good.
thank you
I agree with Guerrero. Unless you are good at soldering copper pipe, it is not a job that you should try. It's not that difficult, but if you decide to do it, remember to have the city shut off your water then open all your 'spouts' especially the lowest ones & a few of the highest ones to drain all the water. It is almost impossible to solder copper pipes if there is any water in the system. I fogot this & had just a small trickle of water & it was enough to really make it difficult to solder till I drained all the water & I even had to dry part of the pipe with paper towels.
If your city is nice, they will stay after turning your water back on while you quickly check fot leaks!?! Hopefully a licensed plumber will take care of all of this. Just get a couple of quotes & make sure that it includes any permits & dealing with the city!!
Thank you
Make sure you know the size of your supply line. Go to the local hardware/lumber yard and get sharkbite brand repair parts for that size pipe.
Get 1 inline ball shutoff vaulve 2 connectors 1 adjustable connector. 400 grit emery cloth.
have the city shut off your water ( unless you can do it yourself, I did)
Dig down to 6 inches below the water line with an 18 inch side clearence. Clean off the pipe. use a pipe cutter to avoid burrs. measure carefully and cut out 1/2 inch less than your measure. clean polish the ends of your copper line WITH EMERY CLOTH. slip on a sharkbite connector then the shut off vaulve, the the other connector, at this point you use the adjustable connector( it will slide a little to fit ). turn the water on slowly to check for leeks. DON'T FORGET TO BUILD A FRAME TO GET TO THE SHUT OFF. OR YOU COULD PUT A FREEZE PROOF SHUTOFF THRU THE FOUNDATION. I did this two years agoand I'm a 75 year old widow and I'll try anything at least once. GOOD LUCK
thank you!!
