I have a Delta H72 Shower Faucet that drips. Can anyone help me?

Buy either the correct cartridge or a repair kit. I usually buy new cartridge sometimes the old one are made of plastic and have cracked. Some are metal others are plastic. If possible take the old one out and then go to the store.

Turn off the water to the house, open and drain both hot and cold water at a different location. Turn this to on in middle position. Then begin by placing a wash rag or towel over drain, for when you drop the screws, keeps them from going down the drain.

I have done this several times, unscrew the handle, cover plate and then take out the "c" clip with needle nose, then work the cartridge back and forth with plier or similar, while pulling out. You can buy the expensive cartridge removal tool, I have never used one.

When you have either rebuilt the old one with new o rings or have a new one ready be sure to lube really well with plumbers grease.

Replace c clip and reattach everything. If the foam gasket has failed you could use some bathroom caulk to replace it. Use as little caulk as necessary so it doesn't make a mess. I usually use masking tape to provide a clean caulk line.

Turn the water back on and then go around the house opening all of the faucets, flush toilets, etc. This will remove the air from the lines, it may be noisy. If you find a faucet is not running right take the aerator off, it unscrews and clean the sediment out.

If you find that the Hot and Cold have become reversed you can pull it out again and turn 180 degrees.

Definitely sounds like it's time to replace it!
