
Shutting off main water to do some plumbing, must I drain hot W tank?

If you are shutting off the water main. That stops all water going into the house. There is no need to drain the water heater.Helpful Reply -

Agree with Sal85902. No need to drain the tank. You may want to open the hot side of a faucet to relieve the pressure.Helpful Reply -
